SpaceCollective
Launched in 2007, SpaceCollective.org is a ground breaking participatory learning community and independent creative research platform where “forward thinking terrestrials share ideas and information about possible futures within our lifetimes.”
An experiment in the creation of collaborative interfaces and digital curricula, which from the day of its inception attracted a highly intelligent and dedicated community from around the world.
During the project’s initial stages, we enlisted several major higher learning institutions including the University of California in Los Angeles, Columbia University, the Southern California Institute of Architecture, Otis College of Art and Design, and the University of Applied Arts in Vienna to beta test courses aimed at expanding the potential of Internet-based participatory learning.
SpaceCollective is a joint initiative of filmmaker Rene Daalder and designer Folkert Gorter. System architecture and technology created by Josh Pangell. The Future of Everything episodes are edited by Aaron Ohlmann. SpaceCollective logo animations created in collaboration with Remon Tijsen.
